Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American actress and singer of Irish origin. The fiery, passionate role she played in several American films attracted attention to the beautiful green eyed beauty. Her beauty and grace were much appreciated. Also, she was known as the Queen Of Technicolor' in Hollywood. Her characters onscreen reflected her strong, courageous spirit that fought for recognition and survival in this male-dominated world. She was referred to as the "tough Irish girl" and would not compromise her reputation or her respect for the roles she earned by merit. Throughout her career in the film arena she was always vocal against discrimination and unfair treatment towards women actors, and for this, she gained many followers. The autobiography of her, 'Tis herself released in 2004 gave an honest and honest description of her experience, including her struggles while climbing the ladder to achieve success. She was an adventurous person who wasn't afraid to try herself at her own tricks. She starred in over 60 films, and was a actor across the world. After leaving Parra, she married Charles F. Blair Jr. in 1968. Blair was a former brigadier and chief pilot and was an innovator in transatlantic aviation. In the early years of their marriage, she decided to quit her job. Blair however, was killed in a tragic plane accident in 1978. O'Hara's happiness lasted only a few days. In the same year she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and required surgery immediately. She was able to recover. After that, her health declined and she was diagnosed with six heart attacks, short-term memory loss and type 2 diabetes mellitus. O'Hara, at 95 years old, passed peacefully in Boise (Idaho) on 24 October 2015.
