Jennifer Carpenter Bio

American actress Jennifer Leann Carpenter, born December 7 1979. Her credits include Debra Morgan in the Showtime series, for which she received an Saturn Award in 2009. She also played Rebecca Harris, whose role was featured on the CBS television series Limitless. She began her role as Erica Shepherd in The Enemy Within which is which is an NBC drama. Carpenter was initially acknowledged for her role as Emily Rose in The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Carpenter won the 2006 MTV Movie Award in "Best Frightened Actress" and also received an Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. She was also awarded the title of "Breakout performer" at 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They got married in 2008, when they moved to California. Hall and Carpenter released a December 2010 statement announcing they had declared divorce following being separated for "for some time". The divorce was finalized in December of 2011 because of irreconcilable disagreements. But they remain close to each other. On February 10, 2015 it was revealed that Carpenter and musician Seth Avett were engaged and expecting their first child. Carpenter announced in August 2015 that she'd given the birth of one son in May, and that she was eight-and–a-half months pregnant while filming the pilot episode of Limitless. Carpenter and Avett were married in May of 2016.
