Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. At the age of 4 she began her career in the industry with voiceovers and commercials. Private Parts was her first film. The Object of My Affection (1998) followed by Another World (1964) where she was "Rain Wolfe" the child found in the park who was taken care of and nurtured by Josie. Sarah was able to continue working with Amy Carlson ("Josie") many times: Falcone (2000) and Law & Order (1990) as well as Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was selected to portray the character of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). The following year, she also chosen to play "Molly” in ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). With Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Sarah has studied jazz, voice hip hop, tap, Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed with her Theatre and tap classes at "Reel to Real" in Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. Her homeschooling was provided by her mother until 2nd grade. After that, she attended Public School. In the 6th grade, she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) and stayed there until she graduated in. Sarah was just 18 when she moved to Los Angeles. She landed on a plane named "My American Family" within two weeks. The pilot's name was later changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was selected). Sarah is currently the "Haley Dunphy", an the eldest Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
