Sofia Margarita Vergara is a Colombian-American actress and a presenter. Vergara was the highest-paid actor on American television between 2013 between 2013 and 2020. Vergara rose in prominence as host of two programs on Univision's Spanish-language TV network in the late 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was the first big acting performance for Vergara in English. Vergara was also the highest-paid Hollywood actress in the year 2020. Vergara is America's Got Talent judge since 2020. Vergara was born into a Roman Catholic family from Barranquilla. Vergara's mom Margarita Vergara de Vergara was a domestic worker, and her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo worked as a cattle rancher in meat industry. With her five siblings and numerous cousins, she was called "Toti". Vergara was a student for three years studying dentistry at National University of Colombia. But she chose to drop two semesters before graduation to pursue modeling and showbusiness opportunities.
