Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose" McGowan (born on the 5th of September 1973) is an American actress and activist. After making her film debut with an uncredited role in the comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan was recognized for her performance in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995) which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. Her breakthrough came in the horror film Scream (1996) and later played the lead role in the film Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and Jawbreaker (1999). McGowan's portrayal of Paige Matthews on the WB supernatural drama Charmed (2001-2006) was her most famous role. Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film Grindhouse (2006) and in which she was awarded the Saturn Award for Best Actress and the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. In 2014, she starred in Chosen, an action-thriller series. The actress dropped Planet 9, her first album as a studio artist in the year 2018, and a repackaging of the album was released in 2020. McGowan was recognized by Time as one of the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year for 2017. She spoke out about harassment and sexual assault particularly the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. She's published an autobiography, Brave, and starred in the documentary series Citizen Rose, which consists of four parts. Citizen Rose, both in the year 2018.
