Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and in the past, she taught cooking. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and her energised personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides simple, easy-to-master recipes for home cooks on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell worked at top New York restaurants and studied Italian food traditions and environment. Also, she was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was fascinated by food. The Culinary Institute of America was a natural next step to take after graduating with the Bachelor of Arts degree in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I loved being a Culinary Institute Of America student. I enjoyed every moment." It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) and attended an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her time spent in Italy made her more aware and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impression on her food and culinary experience. Burrell was on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children's lives who have challenges. She is also a Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador. she advocates for juvenile diabetes awareness. As an inspirational speaker, she goes on a tour across the United States to promote her love for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate to be able to communicate her love of cooking to many others.
